Kim Cousins
Kim Cousins , born and reared in New Orleans, LA, holds a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in Mark eting and a minor in Management with Graduate studies in Human Resource Management. Hired by the Walt Disney Company, she moved to Central Florida in 1991. She spent two years on-stage with Disney Entertainment, transitioned to the Finance division and then to Human Resource Operations functioning as HR Gene ralist for thirteen divisions. Before leaving in 1998, she went full circle within the organization and was HR Operations for Walt Disney World Entertainment.
Constantly looking for new challenges, Kim formed The Printed Page Design Group; a communications design consultancy. Here she progressively works in several capacities; by trade she is an Operations Efficiency Consultant but is also an Instructional Designer, facilitator, and graphic designer. Clients include Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, American Horticultural Society, The Byrnes Group, Skanska, Yankee Candle and Pizza Hut International. Not only does Kim facilitate the courses she creates, she also teaches Microsoft applications and Office Management I and II at Valencia Community College and sits on the Digital Design Advisory Board for Winter Park Tech. Kim is an IBI Graduate and returns as volunteer staff and on the PowerPoint Team.
After rescuing a Jack Russell named Simon in 2001, Kim took a deeper understanding into the animal—human bond. Using her brainstorming talents, she founded Unleashed Magazines, Inc., a magazine connecting pets, their owners and the community. After two years of strategizing, Unleashed's first regional publication premiered; Orlando Unleashed . Kim's philosophy is simple: to create an atmosphere where pets and owners create stronger relationships by spending quality time together outside of the home. This means building a magazine that showcases a local community's pet culture and acceptance, and what the community has to offer pets and owners.
Promoting the magazine as a guest speaker to the University of Central Florida, she was offered a teaching contract. Kim is now contracted by UCF to teach magazine publishing at the Nicholson School of Journalism. Kim also belongs to the following organizations: HOT (HR, Organizational Development and Training), Business Professional Women, National Association of Female Executives, BNI, International Chamber of Commerce, LSU Alumni Association, Women's Executive Council, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Kim can be reached at 407.293.1877.
