About Maria Simone

Career Highlights

Maria Simone is  Co- Founder and CEO of Signature Accents , LLC, www.cityscarves.com  a San Francisco based company that develops creative concepts and into unique products for the consumer market. The first products created under this brand development model include City Scarves , City Ties, and City Wear which are currently  selling in Macy's, Bloomingdales, tourist destinations,  hotel and upscale gift shops.  The concept focuses on "celebrating cities" with part of the profits going back to the various cities. Within 2 years Simone has taken the company from concept to a current valuation of over $1.5 million. Signature Accents, LLC, is the second successful business start-up for Simone in the private sector.

In 1997, Simone  founded and is currently the managing partner of DreamScout, an Arizona-based business development firm specializing in start-up companies. She has assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs with business planning and growth, sequencing, capital formation, product development, manufacturing and distribution.  She is currently working on the development of a series of books focusing on sequencing for success as well as the development of successful business relationships.

Simone's consulting focuses on "conscious capitalism" and is a trainer for IBI Global, an international entrepreneurial training and networking organization.  She also supports the expansion of the IBI Clubs throughout the US through speaking engagements and radio interviews.

When she earned her BS degree in Clinical Pharmacy from St. John's University , Simone began her career in business development roles for several large health-related organizations eventually leading her to  negotiate and manage several multi-million dollar accounts.

As a sought after healthcare consultant until she returned from the profession in 1999, Simone also was called upon as an expert witness in medical related cases, performed consulting services for hospice organizations, coordinated drug randomization studies for an international research firm, co-authored pharmaceutical quality control standards legislation in the state of Arizona and performed sales training activities for several medical divisions of Johnson & Johnson, Inc.

Simone serves as advisor and/or sits on the Board of Directors of several start-ups and non-profit organizations, including the Executive Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society. She has been a member of the IBI network of entrepreneurs since 1999.
