About Rand Brenner
Mr. Brenner currently heads up the Licensing (merchandise and TV Programming) division for GENEON ENTERTAINMENT (USA) INC., formerly Pioneer Entertainment (USA) Inc., a full service producer and distributor of software for home entertainment including animation, film, television shows and music programming on DVD and CD. Since its inception, the company's strategy has been to identify marketing opportunities in a variety of specialized areas, predominately in animation, where the Geneon/Pioneer Animation name has become synonymous with Japanese animation. Teaming with many of Japan's top production companies, Geneon Entertainment serves as a creative partner in developing several anime favorites including Armitage Dual Matrix, Hellsing, Strawberry Eggs, SoulTaker and Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden. At the same time, the company licenses out its popular anime brands in several categories including action figures, apparel and posters to top licensees. As anime takes hold in North America, Geneon Entertainment expands its reach into Europe, developing and negotiating television and film distributions with several broadcasters in Western Europe.
Mr. Brenner's extensive career in entertainment licensing includes positions with several high profile studios including Vice President of Licensing and Merchandising for Saban Entertainment (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - a worldwide licensing phenomenon), and Warner Bros. Consumer Products (Batman - grossed over 1 billion dollars in retail sales).
Mr. Brenner attended California State University in San Jose (CA) where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Pepperdine University from which he obtained a masters degree in Business Administration. He is a frequent instructor at CEO Space Free Enterprise Forum.
